This
is being written on the day that George Bush would have unleashed
his war on Iraq i.e. March 20th. The launch of this issue of Dhwanii
too can draw parallels with the war - 'to be or not to be'. Many
of you were really expecting this to be out much sooner and some
of you would be apprehensive about the future issues. All we can
say is that, being home made, fresh and pure, Dhwanii is a creation
that is borne more out of love for 'sound' and the 'written word'
and as all things that are created painstakingly out of love,
will take its own time. This is no excuse for the delay in the
launch, but with the limited human resources in the technical
department, it should be a wonder, that we are able to get this
out every month.
The
theme for this issue is Glenn Perry's (more of him inside) peace
poster (created by me). Being the season of war, I thought this
apt. We have a lot of fantastic contributions this issue, our
Main Feature is a coverage of the Unity of Light concert by Shyam.
Our regular columnists once again stimulate your brain cells and
we have the talented TR Sankar and Lazy Geek aka Guru Subramaniam
joining this disinguished group. Anurag and Eswar have penned
excellent articles for the Compose Yourself section alongwith
our regular - Dr.Pradeep's informative article. Aditya Pratama
has penned an excellent article on Conductors and Conducting.
We
have a new section called the Voice Box that will be featuring
amateur and professional singers. Blaaze - AR Rahman's chief rap
singer, opens this section for us. Dhwanii is also a medium of
expression for the underground music scene and this issue, we
hope, will be quite an eye-opener.
Love
and Peace.
